What a rights notice should contain
A rights notice should identify the material, provide the exact page URL, explain the rights interest, and include a reliable contact route. If only part of a page is disputed, describe that part precisely so the request can be reviewed without guesswork.
False or incomplete notices can delay a fair review. Include only information needed to establish the claim and explain the requested remedy.
Review and response
The final process should record when a notice arrived, what was checked, who reviewed it, and what action was taken. If material is changed, corrected, or removed, the record should preserve the original URL and the reason for the decision.
Preserving a fair process
A review should distinguish an ownership complaint from a request to correct attribution, remove personal information, or fix an ordinary factual error. Different issues may need different responses. Keeping the request, source material, decision, and date together makes the process easier to audit.
Where a notice is incomplete, the reviewer should request the missing information rather than guessing at the claimant’s intent.

Not every rights concern is a takedown request. Some matters are better handled as an attribution correction, a factual correction, a privacy concern, or a broken-source report. Identifying the issue accurately helps the reviewer choose a proportionate response.
